5 Month Photo Shoot

The inquisitive baby that he is, he has to acclimate to his surroundings before he smiles. This was the biggest smile we could get at the studio- his cute little smirk.

It was hard to get him to stop playing with his toes and look at the camera!

"I love these things!"

Daryl's Dedication

On September 11, 2011 we had Daryl dedicated to the Lord. That means Matt & I dedicate ourselves to bringing up Daryl in a Christian home and teaching him all about Jesus. He was kindof cranky during the ceremony until it was his turn, then he was happy and looking back at all the people staring at him.

I described how Daryl has changed our lives. Through our struggles to get pregnant, Matt & I learned to trust God and lean on Him for strength and support. We also became closer as a couple and learned to support each other.

Matt's parents and my mom stood up front with us to show their support as well.

Daryl enjoyed sucking his fingers while Pastor Jim spoke.

Praying for God to bless Daryl's future.

"All done! Where's the cake?"

My mom made the cake - delicious chocolate with chocolate chips!

Daryl received lots of gifts, including: toys, books, a savings bond and a cross-stitched prayer from Great-Grandma Bernice!

Nana's 60th Birthday Party!

Kathy (aka Nana, Matt's mom) turned 60 on September 6th! She is the most wonderful, kind, caring, thoughtful, giving, selfless, person there ever was! She is a fabulous cook, role model, wife, mother and grandmother! We all love her so much! Jerry, Matt's Dad, organized a semi-surprise party for her. It was especially fun for us to introduce everyone to Daryl!

"Wow! Listen to the sounds I can make by pushing this button!"

A gathering of people who all love Kathy!

My mom (in the brown shirt) & Al (in the Navy shirt) came, too!

The kids had some play time - Kaitlin, Daryl & Gavin.

Kait Kait all tuckered out.

"Me too."

We love you, Nana!

Our First Family Bike Ride

Matt & I bought a Burley bike trailer off Craig's List, and now that Daryl can hold his head up we decided to try it out! We love to go on long bike rides, and it felt so good to get out on our bikes again!

"I can ride your bike, right Dad?"
"Oh, this is where I get to ride. Cool!"

"That was fun! I didn't know I could go so fast! Daddy threw a little dirt in my hair, but I don't mind."

"I saw these flowers when we got back from our ride. They're so interesting! When are we going to ride again?!"

Daryl's First State Fair

Daryl went to the Minnesota State Fair for the first time! He actually got to go twice - once with his daddy & mommy, and once with just Mommy, his Grandma, Aunts, and cousins. He had so much fun, but I think his favorite part was getting fanned by Daddy.

Our family
"I'm having so much fun! Look at all these tractors!"

"I'm big enough to drive this one, right?"

"Look, I'm driving with my foot!"

"Rrrrrrrrrrr"

Enjoying the scenery at the "Little Farm Hands".

Taking a break on Nana's lap during the Junior Brown concert at the Bandshell.

Matt wanted to listen to Junior Brown sing "Highway Patrol".

"I love my toes!"

It's nap time in the Leine chair.

"Fan me some more; I love it!"

"Mmmm...deep fried cookie dough on a stick."

Checking out The Miracle of Birth Center

"What are all those little things moving around in there, Momma?"

"Oink, oink."

"I wanna touch it!"

"These things look so weird."

"Wow, these geese are noisy!"

Cousin Preslee pulling Cousin Trevor in her wagon.

Daryl was taking a nap when we were in the horse barn, but everyone else got to see horses up close and personal. Preslee even got nuzzled by one!

Trevor got to meet a sheep walking down the street.

Moooooo

"That's a baby cow? It's huge!"

"I'm ready for more fun!"

Preslee hugging Trevor...again!

Jack Sparrow!

McKenzie - my elementary school friend, Melissa's, daughter. She looks exactly like Melissa did.

"Wheeeeee!"

"What? Why can't I just take her toy? I want to play with it, too."

"It feels nice to get out of my stroller for a while."

Babies like the fair, too! (Daryl & Cousin Kinsey)
