End of School Year!

As many of you know, I took a long-term subbing position in a 1st grade classroom at Washington Elementary for the last 30 days of the 2010 school year. Unfortunately, this school was one of many that was closing due to budget cuts and lack of enrollment. There were many sad faces, but their last Track & Field Day was a celebration of all the memories.
There was a live DJ. Here we are all doing the YMCA song. I am in the very middle of the picture, just to the left of the guy in yellow. My 1st grade class is lined up in front of me. (You can click on the picture to see it better).Trevor and Preslee visited my classroom and played with the pattern blocks.

To celebrate the end of the school year, some of the teachers, including myself, performed a dance to the new popular song "Tonight's Gonna Be a Good Night". This is known as the Mob Dance that was also performed for Oprah. We only had 3 sessions to practice the dance, so it wasn't perfect by all means, but it was fun! You can barely see me. Unfortunately, Kacie was on the opposite side of me. I'm in the back on the left (we're all wearing our Washington shirts, so it's hard to pick me out.)

Trevor got to go through one of the bouncy houses with his Auntie Kacie watching.
